Terms of Service

By installing the Webmend Chrome extension, accessing webmend.app, or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately.

We may update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify you via email (if you have an account) or via an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

Webmend provides a Chrome browser extension and web application that allows:

• Reporters (website visitors) to highlight and submit issues such as broken links, typos, inaccurate content, and other errors they encounter on third-party websites
• Site owners to receive, manage, and act on those reports for domains they own and have claimed through the Service

Webmend is a platform. We do not author, endorse, or verify the accuracy of any report submitted by users. We are not responsible for the content of reports or for whether site owners act on them.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

Creating an account is optional for reporters. Site owners must create an account to claim and manage their domains.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at contact@webmend.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. Frontweb SRL is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abuse, or are inactive for an extended period.

5.1 What You May Report

You may use the Service to report genuine issues you encounter on websites, including broken links, typographical errors, inaccurate or outdated information, non-functional UI elements, and similar quality issues that would reasonably be of interest to the site owner.

5.2 Prohibited Use

You may not use the Service to:

• Submit false, misleading, defamatory, or malicious reports
• Harass, threaten, or intimidate site owners or other users
• Submit automated, bulk, or spam reports
• Collect or scrape data from websites beyond what is necessary to submit a report
• Impersonate a site owner or another user
• Probe, test, or exploit vulnerabilities in third-party websites through the extension
• Use the Service for any purpose other than its stated functionality

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension and removal of your reports from the platform.

5.3 Report Content License

When you submit a report, you grant Frontweb SRL a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to store, display, process, and share the report content with the relevant site owner and, where applicable based on plan settings, with the public. You retain ownership of your report content, but acknowledge that this license is necessary for the Service to function.

5.4 Report Visibility

Reports submitted on free-tier domains are publicly visible on webmend.app by default. Reports submitted on domains with an active Plus add-on are private and visible only to the verified site owner. You should assume your report may be public unless you have confirmed the site owner has an active Plus add-on.

5.5 Anonymization on Account Deletion

If you delete your account, your identity will be anonymized within your submitted reports (displayed as "Deleted User"). Report content, including the page URL, description, screenshots, and browser data, will remain available to the site owner and will not be deleted, as it constitutes operational data for the site. Reports on unclaimed domains are deleted after 2 years of inactivity.

6.1 Domain Verification

To claim a domain, you must verify ownership by uploading a Webmend-provided verification file to a publicly accessible location on the domain. Only one account may claim a given domain at a time. By completing verification, you confirm that you are the lawful owner or authorized administrator of that domain.

6.2 Free Tier for Site Owners

Site owners may claim unlimited domains for free. The features included in the free tier are described at https://webmend.app/#pricing and may be updated from time to time.

6.3 Plus Add-on

Site owners may unlock enhanced features for individual domains by purchasing the Plus add-on, a permanent, per-domain upgrade. Purchased features remain active for the lifetime of the domain claim. The current price and full list of features included in the Plus add-on are described at https://webmend.app/#pricing.

We will not remove core purchased features without notice and a reasonable transition period. Feature availability is otherwise subject to change.

6.4 Periodic Discounts

Frontweb SRL may offer time-limited promotional pricing for the Plus add-on. Discounted purchases are subject to the same terms as standard purchases. Past promotional prices do not entitle users to future discounts.

6.5 Site Owner Responsibilities

By claiming a domain, you agree to:

• Use report data only for the purpose of reviewing and addressing issues on your website
• Not contact reporters in an unsolicited, aggressive, or harassing manner
• Not share reporter data with third parties outside your organization
• Comply with applicable privacy laws regarding any personal data contained in reports

6.6 Unclaimed Domains

Reports submitted on domains that have not been claimed by a verified site owner will be stored for a maximum of 2 years from the date of submission, after which they will be permanently deleted.

Reporters may earn karma points for submitting reports. Karma points:

• Have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed, transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash or any other consideration
• Are displayed publicly on the Webmend leaderboard (in obfuscated form if you have not set a public username)
• May be adjusted, recalculated, or removed by Frontweb SRL at any time, including in cases of abuse or account deletion
• Do not constitute a contractual entitlement of any kind

8.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Freemius (freemius.com). Frontweb SRL does not collect or store your payment card details. By making a purchase, you also agree to Freemius' Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

8.2 Pricing

The current price of the Plus add-on is published at https://webmend.app/#pricing. The Plus add-on is billed as a one-time fee per domain. Frontweb SRL reserves the right to change pricing for future purchases at any time. Price changes do not affect already-purchased add-ons.

8.3 Refund Policy

Because the Plus add-on is a digital product with immediate access to features, the following policy applies:

• If you have not activated or used any Plus features on the domain after purchase, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing contact@webmend.app.
• If you have activated or used any Plus features on the domain (e.g., enabled private reports, configured webhooks, received instant notifications), you have consumed the digital product and the right of withdrawal is waived. No refund will be issued.

If you are an EU consumer and wish to receive immediate access to Plus features upon purchase, you will be asked to explicitly waive your 14-day right of withdrawal at checkout in accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive.

In addition to the reporter-specific restrictions in Section 5.2, all users of the Service agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to interact with the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its infrastructure
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its backend systems
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law

The Webmend name, logo, design system, and all original content on webmend.app and within the Chrome extension are the intellectual property of Frontweb SRL. You may not use, copy, or reproduce them without prior written permission.

User-submitted report content remains the property of the submitting user, subject to the license granted in Section 5.3.

If you are a site owner and believe a report submitted about your domain is false, defamatory, or in violation of these Terms, you may contact us at contact@webmend.app with the following information:

• The URL of the report in question
• Your domain verification status
• A description of why you believe the report violates these Terms

We will review the report and respond within a reasonable timeframe. We reserve the right to remove reports that we determine, at our sole discretion, to violate these Terms. We are not obligated to remove reports that represent a legitimate difference of opinion about website quality.

Frontweb SRL is not liable for the content of reports submitted by third-party reporters. We act as a neutral platform and do not take editorial responsibility for report content.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Frontweb SRL does not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time
• Reports submitted through the Service will be accurate, complete, or acted upon by site owners
• The Service will be free from bugs, viruses, or other harmful components

Use of the Service is at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Frontweb SRL's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Frontweb SRL in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €10, whichever is greater.

Frontweb SRL shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of revenue, loss of data, or loss of business opportunity, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Romanian or EU law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Frontweb SRL and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, your submitted reports, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Romania.

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you may also benefit from any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as an EU consumer.

You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr to resolve disputes out of court.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other legitimate operational reason. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

If you wish to terminate your account, you may do so from your account settings or by contacting contact@webmend.app. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as described in Section 8.3.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy at https://webmend.app/privacy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Frontweb SRL regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
